Nethersphere Character Biographies

Post by Victor » 2017.12.03 09:37:01 EST

Your character biography should be compatible with existing Star Trek, Nethersphere, and character biography lore. If it is not, it will remain a valid character biography but not be considered canonical to the Nethersphere story unless conflicting elements are edited.

"Player Episode" stories, e.g. elements of character biographies that reference in-game player-centered episodes, will be canonical on a first-come, first-served basis. For example, two players cannot both be written as the character who infiltrated the Tholian base in Temporal Ambassador, however, multiple players could include in their character biographies references to participating in the Battle of Caleb IV.

Please use the following template when posting your character biography (see an existing biography for usage).

@mneme0 Rihannsu Characters

Post by Victor » 2017.12.03 09:37:33 EST

Aehaa i-Ra'tleihfi t'Vrih
  • Affiliations/titles:
  • Origin: b. 2355, city of Ra'tleihfi, ch'Rihan (Romulus).
  • Adjusted age in 2411: 56.
  • Ethnicity/sex: Rihannsu (Romulan) female.
  • Relationships: House Vrih, sister to Aeirlai, adopted sister to Aenea.
  • Attributes/abilities: major telepath, Borg interfaces.
  • History: Aeirlai was born in 2355 to a militant noble house and joined the military in 2370 to fulfill her family's service obligation. She served as an engineer specializing in singularity manipulation. In 2380 she was captured and assimilated by the Borg.

In 2394 Aenea's Borg liberation task force rescued Aehaa and during telepathic therapy and training sessions she learned of Aenea's relationship to House Vrih. Subsequent research revealed substantial wrongdoing by her family over the years and Aehaa vowed to restore her House's honor when she discovered her sister Aeirlai, indoctrinated by the Tal Shiar, had infiltrated and was trying to sabotage the Nethersphere, an organization concerned only with rescuing and helping temporal and other refugees. With Aenea's help Aehaa broke Aeirlai's conditioning; both sisters joined the Borg liberation task force and also protect the Nethersphere from other Tal Shiar threats.
Aeirlai i-Ra'tleihfi t'Vrih
  • Affiliations/titles:
  • Origin: b. 2363, city of Ra'tleihfi, ch'Rihan (Romulus).
  • Adjusted age in 2411: 48.
  • Ethnicity/sex: Rihannsu (Romulan) female.
  • Relationships: House Vrih, sister to Aehaa, adopted sister to Aenea.
  • Attributes/abilities: minor telepath.
  • History: Aeirlai was born in 2363 to a militant noble house and after a short stint in the military was invited to join the Tal Shiar in 2384.

Thoroughly indoctrinated, she committed a variety of immoral acts without conscience against Rihannsu citizens, especially after the destruction of the Romulus system. In 2392 she was sent to infiltrate and sabotage the Nethersphere and worked toward those objectives until her sister Aehaa was rescued by Aenea's Borg liberation task force in 2394. Aehaa's rescue was accomplished with the help of Vulcan mental disciplines and Aenea's moral teachings during subsequent therapy sessions led Aehaa to research her family's past. Aenea was revealed to be the daughter of an outcast of House Vrih whose expulsion reflected badly on the House. Aehaa uncovered many more shameful acts by House Vrih and demanded that Aeirlai make amends; with Aenea's help Aeirlai's Tal Shiar indoctrination was broken and she began to work toward the Nethersphere's objectives.
Aenea ei-Dabhae t'Vrih
  • Affiliations/titles:
  • Origin: b. 2294, Shi'Khar, Vulcan.
  • Adjusted age in 2411: 119.
  • Ethnicity/sex: Vulcan/Rihannsu (Romulan) female.
  • Relationships: House Vrih, adopted sister to Aehaa and Aeirlai.
  • Attributes/abilities: major telepath, Borg interfaces, Adept of Gol.
  • History: Aenea was born in 2294 to a Rihannsu woman who sought asylum on Vulcan after Ambassador Sarek revealed the Freelan Plan and the Freelan colony was evacuated. Her mother had become pregnant after a liaison with one of the captured Vulcans, who was executed shortly before the unmasking.

Aenea was adopted by a Vulcan family who entered her into the Vulcan Science Academy. After her graduation in 2320 her adopted parents asked her to join the Masters of Gol to study emotional control, which she was grievously lacking. In 2332 she attained kolinahr, but left the monastery to return to the Vulcan Science Academy. She assisted in the study of Maian artifacts provided by T'Kan, finding herself more adept with their usage than most others who had tried, and was invited by Mneme to join her in searching for the missing Mousai (Maians) and Syrenai (Electrans). Aenea and the two Starfleet officers (who took a sabbatical for nearly twenty years) were unsuccessful at locating the others.

In 2360 Aenea, sponsored by Mneme, joined Starfleet. She served with distinction aboard several starships until the USS Syracuse, a science vessel she served as a tactical officer, was assimilated by the Borg in 2370. While unable to physically extricate herself, Aenea applied the disciplines she learned at Gol to resist and mimic assimilation, acquiring a great deal of intelligence from the perspective of a Borg drone, which her eidetic memory allowed her to retain and catalog. In 2389 she coerced the Borg cube to attack a Rihannsu vessel and disabled many of its offensive capabilities, allowing the rescue of many drones by Aidoann.

Aenea joined the Nethersphere and she and Aidoann have engaged in numerous rescue operations to liberate Borg drones through the use of telepathic abilities and Vulcan mental disciplines. One such rescue, Aehaa, turned out to be a descendant of Aenea's birth mother; as one of the few surviving females of House Vrih Aehaa adopted Aenea back into the House in recompense for the humiliation Aenea's mother suffered at the hands of her family that caused her to defect.
Aidoann ir-Kihai t'Aanikh
  • Affiliations/titles: Ambassador to the Federation, 2285; liaison with Vulcan relief fleet, 2287.
  • Origin: b. 2371, Kihai district, ch'Havran (Remus).
  • Adjusted age in 2411: 40.
  • Ethnicity/sex: Havransu (Reman) female.
  • Relationships: House Aanikh.
  • Attributes/abilities: major telepath.
  • History: Aidoann was born as Aodhh in 2371 as the daughter of mining slaves on Remus but adopted and renamed by House Aanikh after her strong telepathic abilities became evident. Her adopted mother was extremely liberal by Rihannsu standards and considered Havransu equals to the Rihannsu--an unpopular sentiment that got her executed in 2385, just after she sponsored Aidoann's entry into a prestigious diplomatic arts program on Rator III.

Despite the blatant racism and brutality of her Rihannsu peers, she graduated quite early with high honors in 2387 just before the chaos caused by the destruction of the Romulan system. She left Rator III and took a transport to Vulcan, where she met with a Starfleet captain named T'Kan, with whom she'd had correspondence during her diplomatic arts studies. T'Kan, previously a Vulcan ambassador, facilitated communications between Vulcan relief fleets bound for Rihannsu space and local authorities and employed Aidoann as a liaison.

Aidoann excelled at coordinating relief efforts to the embarrassment of some of her Rihannsu peers, who "rewarded" her with a posting as quartermaster on the IRW Latas Ieryyrheri, a Morrigu-class warbird with a particularly Havransu-hostile captain. The warbird was ambushed by the Borg in 2389, killing the captain and the senior staff, whereupon Aidoann took command and successfully disabled the Borg cube. Detecting Rihannsu drones, Aiodann led an away mission to the cube and liberated a number of drones including Aenea who had, through the use of Vulcan techniques previously learned at Gol, managed to free herself from the Collective.

The damaged Latas Ieryyrheri was rescued by ships of the Nethersphere, and Aidoann and Aenea began instituting training programs derived from Vulcan techniques that would allow resistance to Borg indoctrination and the use of telepathic intervention to liberate others who had been assimilated.
Aoide e-Rllaillieu t'Maia
  • Affiliations/titles: Elder of the Mousai.
  • Origin: b. between 200 and 100 KYA, City of Blue Dream, Maia VIb.
  • Adjusted age in 2411: between 100 and 200 thousand years.
  • Ethnicity/sex: Mousai (Maian) female.
  • Relationships: Sister of Melete and Mneme, adopted into House of Rllaillieu by Mnheia.
  • Attributes/abilities: powerful psionic, meta-corporeal, effectively immortal.
  • History: Aoide is one of the three elders (with Mneme and Melete) of the Mousai and one of only nine survivors of that species. The elders visited the Beta Quadrant in the early 2200s with Aoide exploring Rihannsu space. While the elders are in intermittent communication, the other six Mousai and the five survivors of the related species, the Syrenai of the Electra system, are also missing.

In 2283 Aoide encountered a fleet led by Mnheia as it was being trapped in an interphase distortion caused by Tholian sabotage. She tried to render aid but was unable to extract the fleet; she was forced to create a stasis bubble to protect the crews from the harmful effects of interphase. She was trapped in the bubble herself but was able to send a psionic distress call to her Mneme, who found the fleet in 2305 but was also unable to free them. Mneme set up a temporal flux that freed the fleet in 2387.

When the fleet was freed Aoide left to find Mneme and Melete, but first met with T'Kan, a Vulcan who had dedicated her career to finding temporal refugees wen her sister T'Kal went missing in 2270 at the Battle of Caleb V. T'Kan had been given Maian artifacts by Mneme that allowed psionic communication across time and space and occasionally between people trapped in temporal anomalies. Though the artifacts had been studied by the Vulcan Science Academy at T'Kan's request, their function was very intermittent when used by non-Maians, so Aoide helped T'Kan improve their function and create additional devices, which were later provided to Mnheia and Nethersphere vessels to aid their temporal rescue efforts.
Mnheia i-Mnaeha t'Rllaillieu
  • Affiliations/titles: ChR Bloodwing 2265-2280; special envoy to Tholia 2282.
  • Origin: b. 2250, city of Mnaeha, ch'Rihan (Romulus).
  • Adjusted age in 2411: 57.
  • Ethnicity/sex: Rihannsu (Romulan) female.
  • Relationships: House Rllaillieu (father from House Khellian), cousin of Ael i-Mhiessan t'Rllaillieu, sponsor-sister of Aoide, Melete, Mneme, mu'qaD.
  • Attributes/abilities: minor telepath, neural interface with Tholians.
  • History: Mnheia was born the daughter of two honorable Rihannsu houses in 2250 and being an only child joined the military to fulfill her family's service obligation.

During her early career Mnheia was an engineer specializing in interdimensional theory who served with Ael t'Rllaillieu aboard the ChR Bloodwing during the Levaeri V debacle of 2275 and the Romulan Civil War of 2276. After Ael's installation as Empress, Mnheia was assigned to take a small fleet to make contact and negotiate a trade agreement with the Tholian Assembly.

In 2283 the Tholians rebuffed the peace venture and on the way home to ch'Rihan Mnheia's ships were caught in an interphase distortion, the result of Tholian sabotage. As the fleet was pulled into the distortion a Maian named Aoide came across them and attempted to rescue them but was unable to extract them. They became trapped and Aoide was forced to create a stasis field to prevent the effects of interphase from killing the crews. Aoide herself became trapped but was able to send a psionic distress call to her sister Mneme who was exploring in Federation space.

Mneme found the fleet in 2305 while serving aboard the USS Resolute but was also unable to extract the trapped ships; she was forced to settle for reinforcing the stasis field and creating a temporal flux that would allow the ships to be thrown clear of the distortion's event horizon in the future.

In 2387 the fleet escaped and was met by the USS Ashaya, a Federation ship captained by T'Kan that had been informed of the possibility of an old Rihannsu fleet appearing out of a temporal distortion. When told of the recent destruction of the Romulan system, Mnheia ordered the fleet (except for her own ship, the ChR Heis'he Ehl'ein, to disperse and assist with rescue and recovery efforts.

She traveled with T'Kan to Tholia and demanded recompense for the years lost because of Tholian sabotage and, inexplicably, was granted it. The Tholians provided a small fleet and a number of crew, and advised her of a variety of temporal incursions that could be expected in the next few decades that she would participate in.

Upon Mnheia's return to Rihannsu space, T'Kan revealed to her the existence of other temporal refugees including her own sister T'Kal, a ship thought destroyed in the Battle of Caleb IV in 2270, and a Trill-captained Andorian science vessel lost in 2190, rediscovered along with a quantum duplicate in 2255, and involved in further temporal misadventures. T'Kan also gave her a Maian artifact called a Nethersphere, which allowed for psionic communications across time and space, and asked her to use the device to assist in the recovery and reintegration of temporal refugees. Mnheia agreed and her small fleet would later join various other vessels throughout Federation, Klingon, and Rihannsu space in a covert search for such refugees. Thus in 2390 the Nethersphere was formed.
